Section 504

Section 504 is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Section 504 ensures that the child with a disability has equal access to an education. To accomplish this, the Section 504 team, lead by one of our school counselors, creates an individual service or accommodation plan outlining what accommodations and modifications the student requires. This plan is similar to a special education individualized education plan, but it does not include goals or specialized instruction.

Any one can refer a student for a Section 504 plan at any time by completing a referral form and submitting it to either the school administrator or school counselor. Click here to access our referral form or click here for more information about our school counselors.
