Rice Lake is located in one of the most beautiful areas in Wisconsin. The Blue Hills, Red Cedar River, and lakes provide year-round recreational opportunities. Popular pursuits include fishing, swimming, biking, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, skating, curling, golfing, and enjoying the great outdoors.

The City of Rice Lake is Barron County's largest community with a population of 8,258. It is a thriving community with a strong industrial base and serves as the retail and medical hub for an area population of more than 40,750. In addition to public and parochial schools,  Northwood Tech provides one and two-year vocational diploma programs. The University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire - Barron County provides a two-year liberal arts program. 

Marshfield Medical Center is at the heart of Rice Lake's medical facilities. With over 40 physicians, representing 12 medical specialties, Marshfield Medical Center provides a unique range of health services for a small community.

Mayo Clinic Health System is  also located in Rice Lake and provide a range of health services to the area. Rice Lake also has dental clinics, oral surgeons, optometrists, and orthodontists. The community is proud of its excellent educational and health care systems. 

Downtown Rice Lake is a healthy shopping and business district located on the lake. The area offers big city opportunities in a small town atmosphere. Residents say "This is a great place to live and to raise a family".
